Hi, I’m Mark van Hoegee — currently working as a Cloud Architect at Team Rockstars
Over the past decade, I’ve moved through different layers of the tech stack — from writing .NET code to designing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. Today, I focus on helping teams simplify complex cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on Azure, Kubernetes, and cloud security.
I created this blog to share what I’ve learned, what I’m still figuring out, and the patterns I see in the real world. You’ll find posts here about:
- Cloud architecture and design trade-offs
- Kubernetes security best practices
- Lessons from hands-on projects in Azure
- Topics like digital sovereignty, FinOps, and platform engineering
Whether you’re just getting started with the cloud, or you're deep in the weeds of multi-cluster Kubernetes networking — I hope you’ll find something useful here.
Why I Write
Writing helps me think more clearly and challenge my own assumptions. It’s also a way to give back to the tech community that’s helped me so much.
I’m not aiming for perfection — just clarity, honesty, and hopefully, usefulness.
Outside of Work
I work remotely while traveling across Europe with my camper. I’m a strong believer in flexible work, low-overhead solutions, and keeping things practical. You’ll occasionally see posts about digital nomad life.
